This is an error log produced when Grade Evaluator 2.0 is trying to open and read a template binary file while setting the value of the requirement from the file. Memory leaks may one of the causes of this problem.

 BUG

A change in Percent Distribution from Distribute Evenly to Distribute Separately causes Grade Evaluator to disable the Evaluate and Summary button even though the requirement's percent distribution is already complete. It requires to click one of the percent distributions to re-enable the said buttons.

 CAUSE

Logical Error in the code itself.

 SOLUTION

Re-coding of functions that involve Percent Distribution. It will be fixed in the version 2.1 Update.

REPORT: Memory Allocation and System Resources

BUG

Reported October 17, 2011. Grade Evaluator eats too much memory allocation and system resources as it runs. 

CAUSE

The problem was caused by the high-definition Grade Evaluator's GUI or interface which has a .jpg format. 

SOLUTION

The solution is by changing the High-Definition graphics to a Low-bit .png. Version 2.1 Update will fix this problem. The Grade Evaluator's required system resources was reduced to 40%

ERROR

Error 1 Cannot publish because a project failed to build.

Error 2 An error occurred while signing: Failed to sign bin\Debug\app.publish\\setup.exe. SignTool Error: Signtool requires CAPICOM version 2.1.0.1 or higher. Please copy the latest version of CAPICOM.dll into the directory that contains SignTool.exe. If CAPICOM.dll exists, you may not have proper permissions to install CAPICOM.

CAUSE

SOLUTION

  1. COPY C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\microsoft shared\CAPICOM\CapiCom.dll TO C:/windows/system32
  2. Then simply run a command prompt as an administrator, type cd C:\windows\system32\ and run the RegSrv command: regsrv32.exe capicom.dll

REPORT: Course Profile Bug

BUG

 Logical Error in the Course Profile Dialog Box.

1. Open the application.
2. When prompted for name and course, click Cancel.
3. When asked for confirmation of exit, press No.
4. When prompted for name and course, click Cancel again.
5. This time press Yes.

The program enters a logical error that causes the program to infinitely loop itself forgetting to exit the application.

 

CAUSE

Logical Error in the code itself.

 

SOLUTION

Re-coding of functions that involve Course Profile Dialog Box. It will be fixed in the version 2.2 Update.

BUG

The Grade Evaluator 2.2 takes too long to load the program. This one is mostly observed on a slow operating systems and processors.

 

CAUSE

Grade Evaluator's Automatic Update feature was checking for any updates as soon as the program initializes. This causes the program to pause for a while before loading the main program.

 

SOLUTION

Update improvement for the Grade Evaluator. This bug will be fixed in the version 2.4 Update.

If the user restarts the Grade Evaluator and cancels it, Grade Evaluator shows a dialog box telling the user that "The program restarted".

Calculator Bug that misplaces the negative sign to the right side of the LED text was fixed and changed to the right

Re-coding of the function involved in the bug.
